Doctor: |
The Tenth |
The tenth Doctor wears a brown pinstripe suit with trainers. He is much more jovial and good-humoured than his ninth incarnation, but still has the same hardness about him when needed. |
|
Companions: |
Rose Tyler |
Rose Tyler is a 19-year old girl from London c.2005. In Rose (Series 1), she was working in Henrik's department store when the ninth Doctor was investigating Auton activity in the store, and blew it up. In the events that followed this, Rose helped the Doctor defeat the Nestene Consciousness's attempt to take over the world, and he offered her a chance to travel in the TARDIS, leaving behind her mum, Jackie, and boyfriend Mickey. In The End of the World (Series 1), the Doctor took her to the far future to see the day the Earth is destroyed. During this trip, he upgraded her mobile phone, tying it into the TARDIS, so that she can call home no matter where or when she is. Rose took some time to get over the Doctor's regeneration from his ninth to his tenth incarnation in The Parting of the Ways, The 2005 Children in Need Special, and The Christmas Invasion. |
Recurring Characters |
Jackie Tyler |
Jackie is Rose Tyler's mother. She cares very deeply for her daughter, and is very protective of her. She met the Doctor in Rose (series 1), and again in Aliens of London / World War Three (series 1), where she disliked him. |
|
Mickey Smith |
Mickey was Rose's boyfriend in Rose (series 1). He stuck with her in Aliens of London / World War Three (series 1), and in that story, the Doctor offered him a place on the TARDIS, which he refused, knowing that he probably couldn't cope with it. In Boom Town (series 1), he and Rose effectively split up. Although he was still hopelessly in love with Rose, he knew that the Doctor would always come first for her. Unfortunately for him, Rose didn't really take in what he was saying about how he wanted her to come back for him. |
|
The Face of Boe |
The Face of Boe is an alien whom the Doctor and Rose briefly encountered during their visit to Platform One in The End of the World (Series 1), where he was the sponsor of the platform's party to observe the final destruction of the planet Earth. |
|
Cassandra |
Cassandra was - at least according to her - "the last human", as she considered all the other humans to be half-breed mongrels, and herself to be the last specimen of pure humanity. She had prolonged her life by means of surgery, flattening herself so that she was little more than skin and a face connected to a brain in a jar. During The End of the World (Series One), she plotted sabotage onboard Platform One during the party to observe the final destruction of the planet Earth, aiming to get richer by doing so. However, she was apparently killed - her skin bursting into pieces - due to the temperature when she was trapped onboard. |
Recommended Viewing: |
In The End of the World (Series One), the Doctor and Rose met both the Face of Boe and Cassandra. They foiled a nefarious scheme by Cassandra onboard Platform One and witnessed her apparent death. |
